      <MainHeadline>Beitrag</MainHeadline><Pgraph>The efforts of the University of Hamburg -supported by DAAD, DAAD Stability Pact, Hochschulrektorenkonferenz and EU- aim at improving medical education on all steps of medical doctor's development. Short-range aim is to establish a SEEwide level, long-range aim is to approach to an EU-wide level of medical education and medical care standard.</Pgraph><Pgraph>The curriculum reform process in SEE is focused on the following topics</Pgraph><Pgraph><UnorderedList withBullet="yes"><ListItem level="1">Catalogue of Knowledge &amp; Skills,</ListItem><ListItem level="1">Collecting data on the current state of curriculum reform in SEE an comparison with EU-Standard,</ListItem><ListItem level="1">Collecting ideas of reform especially in horizontal integration (e.g. physiology - cardiology), vertical integration (e.g. chemistry - biochemistry - diabetes),</ListItem><ListItem level="1">ECTS,</ListItem><ListItem level="1">Evaluation, Questionnaries,</ListItem><ListItem level="1">Exchange of knowledge about level of exams and start of common exams,</ListItem><ListItem level="1">Start of regional students and teachers exchange programs.</ListItem></UnorderedList></Pgraph><Pgraph>With respect to medicine the region is extremely poor, equipment outdated, teaching facilities antiquated and student/teacher relationship still as in the 1950's. So a lot has to be done, hopefully the Bologna-Process will help.</Pgraph></TextBlock>
